What Happens to Adoptables when not Adopted

Description

Hello everyone! So I have been making adoptables and none of them have sold, which is totally fine. I really was making them for the creature design, and practice. Any money earned would be an extra bonus! It got me to thinking, the adoptable community views these cute little creatures as real things. To adopt and role-play with and love. So what happens to the ones that are left behind, and alone? So I made this to answer my question.

It features:
:bulletred: grotori, my own original species [link]
:bulletred: flower critter, which are a closed species by :iconphloxebutt:. [link] this particular one is a fanart of Tulip, owned by :iconsaycha:
:bulletred: alatumous, a closed species by :iconknk-kenny: [link] This is a fanart of "Elemental Peaceful Earth", owned by :iconalbtraums-adopts:
:bulletred: zombie horses, my own original species [link]
:bulletred: cactee, a closed species owned by :iconouiatchouan: [link] this particular one is close to this link, which is a custom made for :iconpipsqueak09: You can say its a fanart of it, but I changed some things because I didn't have the picture in front of me when I was drawing it. Very small changes, I don't think you would have noticed if I said anything! haha.
:bulletred: Yevren, a closed species owned by :iconvanillatoxin: [link] This is a fanart of Coral Sea, owned by :iconlinkaton:
:bulletred: giraffaroo, a closed species owned by :iconpaexiedust: [link] this particular one is a fanart of pup, owned by :iconsaycha:
:bulletred: Savvy, which is a winged wolf... thing, haha! owned by :iconbuttbear: [link] so this is a fanart of her :)

So I feel that this deviation is pretty self explanatory. Some of the adoptables are pictured as very sad, hoping and waiting to be bought. The next one shows what their world is like. A huge trash dump, similar to a landfill, of all kinds of paper that are other adoptables that haven't been adopted yet. The swirling vortex is how I imagine the interwebs to look, thanks to fantastic sci-fi movies such as Tron. The binary reads "Please help us" twice. The adoptables are starving and very sad in this floating world of trash and gas. And the third picture shows what happens the longer they are left without being bought. They go crazy. They eat each other, which I would consider cannibalism, and they eat themselves. The binary on this page reads "too late".

I mean this artwork to be ironic cynical, and funny. I do not mean to offend anyone, or pressure people into buying adoptables. I just find this community very interesting, in that some adoptables sell for one hundred dollars, and others that are listed as free never find a home. In many cases I do not even view a quality difference. I cannot really tell what sells, and what doesn't.

I wanted it structured to move across the screen, as in a commercial or an old film reel, but I was working with paint so due to easiness I had to make it move downward. I don't think it affects the reading of it, really.

*note, there are some random things that I drew in here that aren't an adoptable I have seen, or meant to be one. These are the starving dog-like creatures on the interspace drawing, the flying weird things that the cactee are eating, and the disfigured shapes running down the hill. Running from another adoptable... that has no resemblance to anything.
**note, the grotori has lost all of its fur! I told you they look like little naked mole rats when they don't have fur!!

Thanks for looking :aww:
